Professional participation
Professional Membership Status and Terms
Paid enrollment and checkout are not open. These terms state the present free-profile rules and the boundaries any future membership offer must preserve.
1. Current availability
Smarter Justice is not accepting professional membership payments or issuing paid membership entitlements. The public legal-community pages, professional community preview, and factual profile directory may be used without buying membership. New professional account registration is paused while reliable email verification and recovery are prepared.
2. Free factual profiles
An attorney or firm may review a public profile and submit an eligible correction, duplicate, suppression, or removal request without paying. Profile control requires separate identity and authority review. Payment does not establish identity, credentials, license status, specialty, office location, verification, or authority.
3. Planned membership
If enrollment opens, membership may provide recurring local information, participation, professional presence tools, and firm or office workflows stated on the exact plan. A price card or preview does not make a benefit available. Each benefit must be described truthfully before purchase.
4. Price, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Before any payment, Smarter Justice must show the exact plan, amount, billing frequency, renewal behavior, cancellation method, refund policy, taxes where applicable, and included benefits. A subscription may begin only after verified server-side payment. Cancellation must remain accessible and ordinarily stops future renewal; the accepted checkout terms control any active purchase.
5. No outcome or fee-sharing charge
Smarter Justice does not charge a percentage of legal fees, settlements, recoveries, refunds, or outcomes, and does not make a charge contingent on retention or result. A future change would require a new owner decision and jurisdiction-specific legal and ethics review before activation.
6. Organic order and advertising
Membership does not change factual verification or ordinary unpaid ordering. Any paid promotional placement must be clearly labeled at the point of display and kept separate from identity, credentials, warnings, and substantive guidance.
7. Inquiries and professional independence
A profile view or user-selected inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship. The user chooses whether to contact a professional. The professional independently handles conflicts, competence, scope, fees, confidentiality, engagement, advertising, solicitation, and every other professional obligation. Smarter Justice does not guarantee inquiries, clients, matters, fees, revenue, or results.
8. Firm authority and seats
A firm administrator may act only within verified authority. Office facts, firm relationships, rosters, professional identities, licenses, community selections, service areas, seats, billing, and entitlements remain distinct. Removing a seat does not erase an otherwise lawful factual profile.
9. Community conduct
Smarter Justice community features may not be used to coordinate prices or fees, divide markets or clients, coordinate bidding or client acceptance, organize boycotts, harvest member contacts, send unwanted marketing, misrepresent affiliation, or disclose confidential information. Moderation and appeals must be available before member submissions or peer-connection features open.
10. Independent organizations
Smarter Justice is not a court, government agency, bar association, certified lawyer-referral service, CLE provider, or law firm. A link to an outside organization does not claim partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, referral, approval, or shared responsibility.
11. Changes and contact
If paid enrollment opens, the checkout and accepted terms presented at that time will govern that purchase. Questions may be submitted through the Smarter Justice contact page when protected requests are available.
Status updated September 3, 2026. These platform boundaries do not replace a professional engagement agreement or jurisdiction-specific legal and ethics advice.
